BARNEY & WORTH SERVICES FOR THIS PROJECT

OUR CLIENT:

Portland Timbers/Thorns

OUR WORK:

When the Portland Timbers expanded their seating capacity by 4,000 seats to meet high ticket demand, the organization worked to ensure the expansion was a positive experience for both fans and the surrounding neighborhoods. As part of this process, the Providence Park Comprehensive Transportation Management Plan (CTMP) was developed to define a vision and action plan to ensure that game-day travel would be safe, convenient, and simple for fans, neighbors, and stakeholders of Providence Park. The CTMP includes measures to meet the transportation needs for the additional fans without increasing demand for onstreet parking or increasing traffic congestion in neighborhoods near the stadium. The Timbers engaged Barney & Worth to conduct public opinion research, facilitate meetings with the Stadium Oversight Committee as well as other communications support for the expansion.

Our services:

  • Public opinion research, including parking and online fan travel surveys
  • Outreach and meeting facilitation with the Stadium Oversight Committee
  • Prioritized recommendations for ongoing implementation and refinement of CTMP measures
  • Reporting and City Council presentations
